The Shenandoah Natural History Association, Inc., 3655 U.S. Highway 211 East, Luray, Virginia 22835 was authorized by an act of Congress to operate within Shenandoah National Park. Its chief purpose is to assist the Park's Interpretive Division in doing a better job of interpreting Shenandoah's natural and cultural history in such a manner as to enhance visitor enjoyment. This is accomplished by making literature, maps, guides and pictorial illustrations of Shenandoah readily available to the traveling public at Park visitor centers or by mail from Luray, Virginia. This book is one of the publications produced by the Association. (Write for a complete list.)

[Note: The Shenandoah Natural History Association is now called the Shenandoah National Park Association, SNPA. SNPA no longer publishes the Guide. See Preface.]
